MALDON STREETSCAPE REJUVENATION
The National Trust declared Maldon as Australia's first Notable Town because of its heritage significance and contribution to the nation's gold rush history. This classification, and later planning controls, have led to much restoration work, encouraged tourism, and has helped the town to remain a historically important and highly desirable destination for residents and visitors alike. It is acknowledged that investment is needed in the streetscape of Maldon to ensure that the township can prosper into the future.
The scope of works is to further develop all elements identified within the Maldon Streetscape Design Standard including the rehabilitation of footpaths, roads and sections of the open drains. The extent of the scope for this project is defined as High Street, from Spring Street to Francis Street, and inclusive of Main Street up to the Templeton Street intersection.
Infrastructure Solutions is responsible for the civil design of upgrades of these works and is part of a project team including Urban Initiatives and the Mount Alexander Shire Council.
